"If you could make a wish, one wish only..."
"I want to travel to outer space inside a guitar."
"A guitar? Why a guitar?"
(Smiling). "Because I can."
Also, in case you never noticed, guitars float, too. :-)
On a happy note, my four submissions for the Trickster exhibit (the first four in the post) have been accepted. Yay!
Hope everybody's having a great summer. The science posts will resume next month.
I love it (guitar travel)! ... and congratulations once again :)
ReplyDeleteI love "guitar travel"! should've thought of that for the title of the post! :-)
Deletethank you, Hollis!
Very cool. I second the notion that guitar travel would be fabulous.
ReplyDeleteOn a science note, have you seen the term "chimeric embryo"? Here is a link:

One use is growing human organs inside other species.
Steve, thanks so much for the link! I've been swamped at work and haven't followed much the news outside HIV for the past month or so, so I really appreciate the heads up. I find the news slightly unsettling, though, but I know that's not coming from my rational side. ;-)
DeleteI'm going to print these papers and bring them with me on my next travel. Thanks again, Steve!
DeleteNo problem. I'll admit that the current state of the technology is indeed a bit upsetting. Hopefully they will be able to figure out a replacement for actual animals for the host.
ReplyDeleteElena, there was a short piece from Bloomberg on G+ yesterday that a study in Africa finds that bribing men to avoid risky behavior by offering them lottery tickets appears to leader to lower rates of HIV infection. Hey, whatever it takes, right?

hehe, it's all about motivation, right? :-)
Deletethanks for the link, Mike !
